    Loaded Potato Soup

Okay, if you’ve been following along with my blogging journey it is no surprise I have a slight soup obsession. On Instagram last week I asked my followers what type of recipe they would want. Sweet or savory, dinner or desert, lite or filling? The answers starting pouring in, and I was really surprised at how many people participated. It was a pretty good mix of both, but savory won! I just recently purchased a Kitchen Aid hand blender and it has brought my soup game up to a whole new level! I will link my prep bowls, dutch oven, and hand blender below if anyone is interested in what…

    Bomb.com Banana Bread

One of my favorite breads is Banana Bread. The only reason I buy bananas is for this bread — other than that I hate them lol. I usually will only have 2-3 bananas after my kids find them, but this time I got lucky and no one touched the 4 I had on the counter. 4 ripened bananas took this bread to a whole new level – hence the name bomb.com. Let me know in the comments if you try this recipe, and what you think. Ingredients and directions below. Ingredients: For Banana Bread:  4 very ripe bananas 1/3 cup melted unsalted butter 1 tsp baking soda 3/4 cup sugar…

    Pierogi Soup

We had a few cold days here in Florida, so I instantly started craving a good bowl of soup. A soup that was hearty and flavorful. I chose to go with a pierogi soup because I had a bag of frozen minis in the freezer that needed to be used. I couldn’t help but to have two bowls. It is that good! I paired mine with bread sticks, but it would also go nicely with a salad. The best part is it tastes even better the next day. This meal is one to please the family. Ingredients: 1 teaspoon extra olive oil 1 package of hot smoked kielbasa sausage 1/2…

Broiled Lemon Garlic Salmon and Asparagus

Lately, Pete and I have become more mindful about our health and eating habits. We’re working on being more active, and so far we’ve been feeling pretty great. I wanted to cook a dinner that would be low carb and have a bunch of flavor. I always eyeball the salmon at Publix, but end up not buying it in fear of wasting money. That’s one meat that I’ve always been nervous to cook thinking I’ll dry it out or mess it up. I took the plunge the other night and picked up 4 skinless salmon filet’s, and they did not disappoint! I will definitely be picking up more next week.…

    Savory Chicken and Dumplings

When I was in my early-mid 20’s I worked at a restaurant called Cracker Barrel. I feel like everyone knows what Cracker Barrel is, but if you’re not familiar with it you are really missing out. It is an antique looking restaurant and gift shop that serves home cooked country-style foods for a great price. While working there I became hooked on their chicken and dumplings, and ever since then Chicken an Dumplings is my number 1 comfort food. I know I post a lot about comfort foods, but these are the ones that warm my soul and make be so so happy! I have always been intimated to make…

    Grandma Ople’s Apple Pie

Happy fall ya’ll!  We have officially entered my favorite season! Bring on the cozy socks, cable knitted blankets, over-sized sweaters, and apple pie!  I adore everything about Fall from food to fashion.  I mean come on ya’ll, Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I know everyone loves a good spread.  You can have this pie perfected to your preferred liking by that time, and impress your friends and family.  Uhhhh… yes, please. Apple pie for me is a comfort pie.  It’ amazing all on it’s own but if you want a more decadent dessert add a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.  You’ll be in heaven! I came across this…

    Biscuits & Gravy Breakfast Bake

Have you ever wanted something to eat but you’re not exactly sure what you want? Or you look through the fridge and think “I want that… that… this… and that.” Well my friends, I’m this person so that’s why I’m asking. This morning I wanted cinnamon rolls, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, and eggs. Basically everything that is breakfast related I was craving. Instead of dirtying up 10 pans to satisfy my breakfast need I decided to combined everything together — minus the cinnamon rolls. Those didn’t happen. Even I know biscuits and gravy AND cinnamon rolls is waaaay too much bread  😂😂😂 Easy Like Sunday Morning I am so…

    Easy Cheesy Skillet Breakfast

Last night I wanted breakfast for dinner. Typically I’m not too much of a breakfast cooker. By the time I’m finished I’m left with a kitchen full of dirty dishes and no appetite. This recipe is easy, delicious, and wont leave you overwhelmed with cleaning.   Directions: Preheat oven to 400 degree. Dice baby red potatoes and chop your bacon. Cook bacon (set grease aside). Add potatoes to skillet and cook until golden brown and tender. Stirring occasionally. Add bacon, garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and a tiny amount of bacon grease. Probably about 1/2 a teaspoon worth. Stir and cook for about a minute or so until you can smell…

    Zuppa Toscana with a Twist

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I am a sucker for soups. I can get down with just about any soup as long as it isn’t chicken noodle. I love hearty Italian soups in particular. This recipe can be considered an Olive Garden copy cat for their Zuppa Toscana with a few minor adjustments. I replace kale with baby spinach and instead of using Italian sausage I use regular breakfast sausage and add my own seasoning. I’ll have an ingredient list if you’d like to spice your own sausage. If not, just use Italian. This soup is inexpensive to make, it’s bursting with flavor, and will keep…
